It is with great pleasure that we announce Carl Ray Polk, Principal at Corner Capital Advisors, has been selected as the 2019 recipient of the E.K. Bennett Award.
Each year a deserving member of the Texas Food & Fuel Association is honored with the E.K. Bennett Award, a recognition named after the first president and one of the founders of the Association. This award recognizes exemplary service to the petroleum marketing industry and the Association. Recipients must provide outstanding service to civic, community and/or religious endeavors, distinguish themselves as leaders in the petroleum & marketing industry and render excellent service to the public through marketing practices.
Polk began his career with Polk Oil Co., Inc.; a Lufkin, Texas-based family-owned business founded in 1937 and subsequently sold in 2007. Between 2002-2003, Polk served as Chairman of the TFFA Board of Directors and continues to play an active role in the association and downstream energy industry.
Join us at the Southwest Fuel & Convenience Expo on May 16th between 10 - 11 am during the E.K. Bennett Award and Tour of Texas presentations as we honor Carl Ray Polk’s achievements, look at the 5 year evolution of convenience stores, and preview what’s ahead for the fuel marketing and convenience retailing industries in Texas.
