Chevron on Track for Major US, Mexican Retail Fuel Expansions
Chevron has big plans for U.S. and Mexican retail fuel business expansions,
along with new petrochemical and refining projects.
Chevron said that it is on track to hit about 400 Chevron-branded retail sites
in Mexico by 2020.
Also, it is targeting an additional 75 U.S. ExtraMile C-stores per year, the
company said.
OPIS reported in November 2018 that ExtraMile C-stores, a joint-venture between
Chevron and Jacksons Food Stores, opened its 800th ExtraMile store in West
Covina, Calif. ExtraMile plans to expand its number of stores to 1,400 by 2027.
Besides retail, Chevron is evaluating a GS Caltex mixed feed olefin plant in
Yeosu, South Korea. This project is in the FEED stage.
Chevron is considering the U.S. Gulf Coast petrochemical II project in Texas.
This project is in the pre-FEED stage. This will be in addition to the current
ChevronPhillips petrochemical plant at Cedar Bayou, Texas. The new
petrochemical plant is expected to be up and running in a few years.
Chevron is also evaluating a residual upgrading project at Singapore Refining
Co.
For projects already under construction, Chevron highlighted its Richmond
refinery modernization plan and its Salt Lake City alkylation retrofit
project. In China, Chevron is working on the Oronite blending and shipping
project.
