TFFA is reaching out ahead of the next Texas Legislative Session (which begins January 2025) about a statewide business coalition, the Lone Star Economic Alliance (LSEA), that is advocating for the legislative reforms we need to preserve the Texas economy.

LSEA is working to end unfair litigation practices used against Texas job creators by exposing deceptive tactics and sharing employer stories.

You’ve seen the billboards and TV ads just like I have. Every business operating in Texas has a target on its back. The personal injury trial lawyers are out to sue for even the most minor accidents, whether or not the company was actually at fault. Using deceptive tactics, they’ve secured exorbitant judgments in courtrooms throughout Texas. Now, insurance companies are scared. They pay too much to settle every claim, driving liability insurance costs to unprecedented levels.

The ripple effects of these abusive lawsuits are far reaching. As operating costs soar, business owners like you and I are forced to raise prices for goods and services. That affects our ability to invest in our companies, communities and employees. Abusive lawsuits are devastating our economy.
