ALEXANDRIA, Va.—Love’s Travel Stops is celebrating those who have served in the military by offering veterans a food and drink deal on Veterans Day in addition to extending a $150,000 donation to Operation Homefront, which is a national nonprofit whose mission is to build strong, stable and secure military families so they can thrive in the communities they’ve worked so hard to protect. The donation will come from the sale of special edition Operation Homefront tumblers, combined with a gift from the company.

“Veterans Day is a day for us to ‘pay it forward’ and say, ‘thank you’ to all current and former military members,” said Jenny Love Meyer, chief culture officer and executive vice president of Love’s. “We always enjoy finding new ways to support our veterans and Operation Homefront for the dedicated and impactful work they do.”

On Friday, November 11, all who have served or those currently serving in the military can get a free roller-grill item and fountain drink with the purchase of one roller-grill item at participating locations. A special edition, 24-ounce Operation Homefront tumbler will also be available for purchase throughout the month of November, with $5 from each sale going directly to the organization while supplies last.

“Our military families need our support, now, more than ever, and we are so grateful to Love’s for their steadfast commitment to help us build strong, stable and secure military families,” said Brig. Gen. (ret.) Robert Thomas, COO of Operation Homefront. “Veterans Day is the perfect time to show our military families that we are grateful for all they have done for our nation in its time of need and to work hard to be there for them in their time of need.”

To help military families overcome short-term bumps in the road and avoid long-term chronic problems, Operation Homefront offers critical assistance in areas including rent-free housing, financial support, caregiver support and various other recurring support programs.

Meanwhile, Rutter’s Children’s Charities announced its $100,000 for the Holidays Donation Giveaway, where four local charities will receive $25,000 each.

“Through our $100k for the Holidays donations, we hope to make this season a little brighter for those in need,” said Chris Hartman, president of Rutter’s Children’s Charities. “We look forward to choosing four worthy charities and spreading the holiday cheer.”

The donation applications will be open from November 1 through November 21. Qualifying organizations should visit www.rutters.com/community to complete the entry form. To qualify, the charity must have a focus on benefitting children and be a 501c3 organization.

At the conclusion of the submission period, Rutter’s Children’s Charities will review the applications, selecting a total of four winners. Each selected recipient will be presented with a $25,000 donation, totaling $100,000 this holiday season. Winners will be contacted in December.

Also, TXB hosted a celebration for the groundbreaking of its upcoming location in Kyle, Texas. At the groundbreaking, the c-store presented Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) with $5,000. CASA is a nonprofit that advocates for children in the foster-care system.

TXB supports and believes in the good work that CASA has accomplished in the Kyle community. In addition to the initial donation, the president of Cheyenne Construction Group decided to match TXB’s donation, allowing both TXB and Cheyenne Construction Group to, in total, present CASA with $10,000.
