Love’s Travel Stops Raises $4.3 Million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

Love’s Travel Stops and its customers raised more than $4.3 million through its annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals campaign, surpassing last year’s total by more than $1 million. Since 1999, the company has raised more than $40 million for children’s hospitals in the states where Love’s stores are located.

“Our customers and team members never cease to amaze us with the effort and donations they put forth each year for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals campaign,” said Jenny Love Meyer, chief culture officer and executive vice president of Love’s. “Supporting sick and injured kids and their caregivers in the communities we live and work is one of our favorite ways to give back each year.”

The official campaign took place from August 26 to September 30, when customers could participate in in-store fundraisers, purchase balloons or CMN Hospitals merchandise and Round up the Change at registers. For the first time, customers can continue to make a difference throughout the year with Round up the Change.

“For more than two decades Love’s team members and customers have supported Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through their culture of giving. This year Love’s reached new heights, raising more funds than ever before for local member children’s hospitals,” said Teri Nestel, president and chief executive officer of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “This achievement shows how a small change, adding an option for customers to round up their purchase to the next dollar on the pin pad during checkout, can produce big results.

Congratulations to Love’s on a record-breaking year, we can’t thank you enough for your continued partnership and sharing in our vision to change kids’ health to change the future.”

Of the 170 CMN Hospitals throughout North America, 116 benefit from Love’s annual campaign. CMN Hospitals provide 32 million treatments annually to kids across the U.S. and Canada.

Meanwhile, Refuel Market, a Charleston, S.C.-based convenience store and gas station chain, announced a national partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). All 196 Refuel Market and Double-Quick locations across the Southeast and Texas participate in a biannual, six-week point of sale campaign benefiting LLS. The most recent campaign wrapped up September 30, and Refuel Market has raised $85,375.89 since partnering with LLS.

“Refuel Market will continue to give back to the communities we serve. We live and breathe our core values, everyday—convenience, quality, family and growth,” said Mark Jordan, CEO, Refuel Market.

In addition to the biyearly campaign, Refuel Market plans to raise additional funds through its recently launched loyalty app. Loyalty members earn points through purchases and can then donate their points to LLS through the Refuel Rewards app.
