SB 1288 Introduced in Texas House
Would allow cstore and grocery to sell spirit based canned cocktails
This week, TFFA worked with Texas Senator Kelly Hancock to file SB 1288, allowing convenience stores and grocery stores to sell spirit based canned cocktails. As of today, these spirit based RTDs can only be sold in liquor stores. This bill would allow cstores and grocery stores to sell those products alongside beer and wine.
The max ABV, 17%, would not change. The most popular spirit based RTD on the market today has an ABV of 5%, similar to light beer. SB 1288 is the companion bill to HB 2200.
