March 11, 2024 — SIGMA, the national trade association representing the most successful, progressive, and innovative fuel marketers and chain retailers in the United States and Canada, is pleased to announce the appointment of Scott Berhang as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) effective April 1, 2024.
“Scott is one of the leaders in our industry, and the Board of SIGMA is excited to leverage his depth of knowledge, contacts, and experience to usher SIGMA into its next era,” said Dale Boyett, President of SIGMA.
Berhang brings 43 years of experience across the spectrum of downstream fuel operations. He has worked extensively with SIGMA members to address the key issues faced by producers, retailers, distributors, and vendors. In addition, Scott has managed both large industry conferences and smaller learning workshops, with a focus on best-practice education.
“In this transformative time for the fuel industry, I am honored and humbled to assume this role at SIGMA,” Berhang said. “I am eager to work with SIGMA staff to help our association members and partners meet the challenges of today and define the industry of tomorrow.”
Founded in 1958 as the Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers of America, SIGMA's approximately 260 corporate members command over 40% of the petroleum retail market, selling approximately 75 billion gallons of motor fuel each year.
SIGMA provides government affairs representation before Congress and the Administration, publications, up-to-the-minute information on events affecting fuel businesses, and legal advice. The association holds conferences throughout the year to allow members and partners to network and participate in education sessions on critical topics. Learn more at https://www.sigma.org/
