OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla.—Love’s Travel Stops has opened six new Truck Care and Speedco locations, a timely move since truckers’ needs for food and other essentials have increased with the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic, reports Chain Store Age.
The new locations are in Tacoma, Washington; Staunton, Virginia, Moore Haven, Florida; Malvern, Arkansas; Ellensburg, Washington, and Obetz, Ohio. Each is open 24/7 and offers tire, lube and mechanical services for professional drivers and fleets.
“Professional drivers are the heroes of the highway, especially during the COVID-19 crisis,” said Eric Daniels, director of tire care operations, Love’s. “We are doing what we can to get drivers back on the road quickly, and that includes opening new truck care locations.”
As the pandemic continues across the United States, truckers are finding that critical services they rely on have been reduced or even eliminated. It’s difficult to find places to eat because restaurants are shut down and rigs are too big to move through drive-thru lanes. Finding a place to shower, have a meal and unwind is becoming more challenging.
