TDA to TDLR Transfer Complete Tomorrow

 August 31, 2020

Tomorrow is an exciting day for the retail and wholesale fuel industries in Texas, as the transfer of the Motor Fuel Metering and Quality Program (FMQ) from the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) is officially complete.

TFFA firmly believes that TDLR, while having consumer protection as first priority, will work closely with the industry to improve the FMQ by modernizing the entire program and simplifying the process for all involved.

In the 2019 Legislative Session, TFFA assisted the passage of SB 2119, moving the FMQ from TDA to TDLR. While it has been a lengthy and arduous process, TFFA would like to thank all stakeholders involved, and especially the TDLR for listening to the industry to enact changes.

Two very important tasks you can do now:

1. Replace Your Pump Stickers

Order your stickers on the TDLR's Motor Fuel Metering Quality page here.

*By December 1, 2020, you are required to replace your current TDA stickers with the new TDLR consumer information stickers. The new stickers ask consumers to look for possible credit card skimmer activity and provide important information including the Department’s contact information.

2. Sign Up for Updates
Stay up-to-date on recent developments at TDLR with email notifications. Get info on changes to laws and rules, important notices, upcoming meetings, and more. Sign up here.
We look forward to promoting and protecting your business further. If TFFA may be of service in any way, please reach out to us at any time at www.tffa.com.

Congratulations to the entire industry.
