TEXAS FOOD & FUEL ASSOCIATION (TFFA) ENDORSES TREY BLOCKER FOR COMMISSIONER OF AGRICULTURE
AUSTIN, TX_JAN. 15, 2018_ Today, the Texas Food and Fuel Association (TFFA) announced its endorsement of Trey Blocker for Texas Department of Agriculture Commissioner in the 2018 Republican primary.
The following can be attributed to Paul Hardin, CAE, President of the Texas Food & Fuel Association
“Our members, the retail and wholesale fuel marketing industry in Texas, pump $80 billion annually into the Texas economy, with 10% of the nation’s convenience stores in Texas. The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), which oversees the Weights and Measures Program, has raised fees on the backs our members as much as 600% without any reasoning, including $6.5 million beyond what is needed to operate the agency. The agency needs a leader who is fiscally responsible, honest and ethical, and we believe Trey Blocker is the right person for TDA Commissioner.”
Cary Rabb, TFFA Chairman of the Board, said that in its 69 year history, TFFA has never endorsed a candidate for any position; however, TFFA feels strongly about this upcoming election and has made the historic decision to endorse Mr. Blocker.
+++++
Texas Food & Fuel Association (TFFA), headquartered in Austin, TX, is a statewide leader in the fuel marketing and convenience retailing industries. Since in 1949, TFFA had enabled the success of its members by serving as an advocate and resource for the industry before both governmental authorities and the public.
