TFFA to Sponsor Human Trafficking Session at LPN Group Meeting in Dallas

Austin, TX — January 18, 2019 — On February 20-22, 2019, TFFA Member Sunoco is hosting the 16th Annual Loss Prevention and Safety Networking Group (LPN) meeting at the Marriott Suites Medical/Market Center Hotel in Dallas.

The interactive meeting brings together convenience retailers from across the U.S. to discuss a variety of topics, share ideas during general and break-out sessions, and network with seasoned professionals in the loss prevention and safety fields.

“We are pleased with the support of TFFA to make their members aware of our unique organization that serves loss prevention, safety and risk management professionals in the convenience store industry to discuss the topics important to them, network with peers and receive educational presentations such as Human Trafficking in a safe environment without distractions,” said Gary Cartwright, Meeting Coordinator for the LPN Group.

TFFA is proud to sponsor one of this year’s educational sessions — a look at how convenience stores can join the fight to prevent human trafficking.

Paul Hardin, President/CEO of the Texas Food & Fuel Association, is honored to raise awareness and help bring this important session to fruition.  “Convenience stores play an important role in their communities — together we can literally save lives” adds Hardin.

Juliana Williams, Program Director for IN OUR BACKYARD (IOB), a national nonprofit that links arms in the fight against human trafficking, will share insight into the Convenience Stores Against Trafficking (CSAT) program.

“Convenience stores can be the eyes and ears to spot human trafficking in their communities and save lives! Loss prevention and safety professionals within the industry have a unique opportunity to detect signs of human trafficking in the course of their daily work,” declared Williams. “I am thankful to TFFA and LPN for shedding light on this critical issue,” Williams continued.

The human trafficking session will be held at 4 pm on February 20th.  TFFA will be in attendance at the LPN annual meeting next month and hopes to see you there!

The deadline to register is January 31, 2019.  Interested in participating?  Contact Gary Cartwright. Meeting Coordinator, at LPNGroup@aol.com or 480.208.3578 for a complete schedule and to register for the meeting. Two nights lodging are included in the registration.
